Frequently Asked Questions

Only the owner of the container can add or remove events within it.

If you find incorrect information, missing details, or inappropriate content in an event, you can report it to the Agorapp team by clicking "Report a problem" in the event options. The report will be reviewed, and the information will be corrected or the event removed if necessary. This system helps maintain the quality and reliability of the platform’s content.

If you find incorrect information, inappropriate images, or other problematic content like events unrelated to that page, you can report it to the Agorapp team by clicking "Report" in the page options. The report will be reviewed, and the correct information will be updated as soon as possible. You don't need to claim the page to request a content review.

To add an event, you can click "Create event" from the Event Management or directly from one of the pages you want to involve. The essential elements are the geographic coordinates, which determine who will receive notifications based on distance, and the involved pages. To add a page, start typing its name in the "Involved pages" field: a list of suggestions will appear from which you can select the correct one. If the page doesn't exist yet, you can create it on the spot. Without involved pages, the event will not appear on users' feeds and will not generate geolocated notifications.

Claiming a page means transferring its ownership from one user to another. To start this process, you can click on "Claim" in the page options. You can claim a page whether it's titled with your name or if you're interested in managing it (e.g., a thematic page or an activity page). For personal pages, you will need to prove your identity. Once claimed, the page will be marked as claimed, and you will be able to manage it independently.

Containers can be created similarly to single events. Some of the information entered during creation will (unless modified) be inherited by the events within that container. In particular, the cover image, poster, and involved pages will be prefilled with the container’s fields each time a new event is added.

Pages can be created in two ways: through the Page Management or during event creation. The first method is preferred because it allows you to simultaneously enter details such as the type and description. If you create a page while setting up an event, it will be generated once you save the event and will appear in your Page Management. The page can be edited and completed later. This method is useful when you want to add a guest directly during event creation and delay the data entry.

When you create an event and involve the pages of participating speakers, all users who follow those pages and are within the event's geographic radius receive a notification. For example, if a bookstore organizes a book presentation with an author and involves them in the event, the notification is automatically sent to the followers of that author in the area. This way, organizers communicate directly with people who have already shown interest in those figures.

To facilitate collaboration among users, standard pages on Agorapp are public and can be involved in an event by anyone. To prevent misuse, we always try to verify the reliability of the information provided by users. If you want to manage a page on your own, effectively making it private, you need to go to the "Edit page" section. Here, you can change the Permissions and select that "Only the owner" can publish an event. With this setting, the user will see the page to be involved with a lock icon, and you will receive a permission request each time the page is involved. You can either accept or decline the invitation.

A container is a collection of related events, such as a festival, a tour, a series of meetings, or any other grouping. It works like a box that holds multiple events under a single label, making navigation and discovery easier for users interested in that series of events.

One of the distinctive features of Agorapp events is the "involved pages" section, which allows you to associate all the people, themes, places, and activities that are part of the event. When you create an event, you can involve the relevant pages: who is speaking, what the topic is, where it is taking place, and who is organizing it. This way, all users who follow those pages will receive a notification if they are within the set geographic radius. If an event is part of a collection (e.g., a tour, a festival, etc.), you can use a container event to simplify the management and display of the events.

Events on Agorapp are added directly by the community: anyone can create an event and involve the relevant pages. Each event goes through a verification process to ensure it is public and that the information is accurate. In this way, the platform grows through user collaboration while maintaining the quality and reliability of the content.

Yes, Agorapp is completely free for both users who want to follow events and pages, and for those who create pages or add events. If you want to increase the visibility of your event, you can sponsor it for a fee in the Event Sponsorship section.

When you follow a page on Agorapp, you receive a notification every time that page is involved in an event happening within the distance radius you've set from your location. You can change the radius (e.g., 20, 50, or 100 km) at any time in the Notifications section and for the pages you follow in Page Management.

A page is a container that represents a person, a theme, a place, or an activity. Anyone can create a page, and anyone can involve it in an event as long as the information provided is in the public domain. When a page is involved in an event, users who follow it and are within the set geographic radius receive a notification so they can participate.

Agorapp pages are public, similar to Wikipedia. If you find a page with your name, you can claim it; transferring ownership of a page requires document-based identification. Once claimed, you will be able to manage your page independently. If there is incorrect information on your page, or an inappropriate image, you can request a review of this information even without claiming the page by clicking here.

There are four types of pages:
Person: for individuals who physically participate in events (speakers, moderators, musicians)
Theme: for discussion topics, historical authors, or public figures being discussed (e.g., "Geopolitics," "Donald Trump," "Dante Alighieri")
Place: the venue where the event will take place (libraries, bookstores, theaters)
Activity: for organizations and entities (publishers, festivals, newspapers, cultural businesses)

When creating a page, choose the correct type. Personal pages cannot be involved in simultaneous events at different locations.

Both pages and events can be tagged with keywords. These hashtags can be searched in thematic queries and are used to suggest pages and events to relevant audiences. Always use hashtags when creating a page or an event. Tags are different from involved pages because they do not generate notifications and cannot be followed.

At the moment, it is not possible to buy tickets directly on Agorapp. Many events include an external link to the organizer’s website where you can complete the purchase or registration. An integrated registration system will be available soon to simplify this process.
