Due premi Nobel 2024 sono stati dati a ricercatori (Geoffrey Hinton e Demis Hassabis) che hanno dato contributi fondamentali allo sviluppo dell’Intelligenza artificiale. Entrambi hanno però dichiarato più volte di essere molto preoccupati che l’IA si autonomizzi al punto da diventare pericolosa per la stessa sopravvivenza del genere umano; e non pochi altri esperti (da Bill Gates a Nick Bostrom) la pensano come loro. Altri studiosi dell’intelligenza artificiale (da John Searle a Barry Smith, da Luciano Floridi a Maurizio Ferraris) sono molto più ottimisti e sostengono che in realtà l’intelligenza artificiale non si realizzerà mai e che dunque, invece di allarmarci per della sua presunta intrinseca pericolosità, dovremmo preoccuparci dei cattivi usi che possiamo farne noi esseri umani. Chi ha ragione?
