2021. Una famiglia siriana atterra a Minsk per cercare di raggiungere il confine tra Bielorussia e Polonia e, una volta entrata nell’Unione Europea, raggiungere dei parenti in Svezia. Ma la foresta che separa i due paesi è ormai teatro di una guerra di sopravvivenza per i rifugiati, presi in mezzo tra la propaganda del presidente bielorusso Lukashenko, che li attira nel paese per sovraccaricare il confine e destabilizzare i governi occidentali, e la violenta repressione da parte della polizia di frontiera polacca, che su ordini del governo Duda cerca di ricacciarli indietro senza alcun riguardo.
