La crescente integrazione dell’intelligenza artificiale (IA) nei processi decisionali ha evidenziato la prevalenza di pregiudizi di genere all’interno dei sistemi di IA. Nel mio intervento esplorerò le cause e le conseguenze dei pregiudizi di genere nell’IA, concentrandomi sulla discriminazione data-driven che colpisce diversi settori, tra cui il reclutamento, l’assistenza sanitaria e le interazioni sociali. Attingendo a ricerche recenti e a spunti derivati dalle policies europee, esaminerò come i pregiudizi di genere nei dati e le scelte di progettazione degli algoritmi perpetuino la disuguaglianza. Per promuovere pratiche di IA eque ed etiche, si propone di includere set di dati equilibrati, strutture trasparenti e una rappresentanza inclusiva dei team, in linea con i valori di una società democratica.
