La Biblioteca statale “Antonio Baldini” di Roma presenta il suo storico fondo di letteratura internazionale per l’infanzia, la Biblioteca Internazionale del Fanciullo (BIF), nato nel 1962 su modello della Internationale Jugendbibliothek fondata a Monaco da Jella Lepman. Inoltre, grazie alle donazioni della Bologna Children’s Book Fair (BCBF) tramite la Cooperativa Giannino Stoppani-Accademia Drosselmeier, la Biblioteca Baldini ha dato vita a un nuovo fondo di letteratura internazionale per l’infanzia contemporanea, il BIF 2, a disposizione di studiosi, professionisti del settore e appassionati.
Nell’ambito delle iniziative per la valorizzazione di entrambi i fondi, la Biblioteca Baldini inaugura uno spazio espositivo permanente, lancia una collana editoriale dedicata ai cataloghi del fondo, e nel corso dell’anno organizza letture, laboratori e momenti formativi per alunni di ogni ordine e grado, docenti e famiglie.
