Malati di libertà. Storia delle evasioni dei prigionieri antifascisti dall’ospedale milanese di Niguarda (1943-1945)
Fra il 1943 e il 1945, in una Milano in guerra e ripetutamente bombardata, l’ospedale di Niguarda diventa un luogo fondamentale per la città. Ogni giorno, nelle corsie, i medici, le infermiere, le suore e tutto il personale lottano disperatamente contro la morte per salvare il maggior numero di feriti. A seguito di un raid aereo che ha distrutto l’infermeria del carcere di San Vittore, il nosocomio diventa anche prigione per i detenuti politici feriti o ammalati. È in quella fase che una rete clandestina si attiva per far fuggire alcuni prigionieri. Ebrei, dissidenti politici, partigiani, militari ribelli: molti detenuti ottengono diagnosi false e, al momento buono, vengono condotti in nascondigli da cui poi saranno aiutati a scappare.
