In dialogo con Gigi Di Fiore e Giovanni Chianelli Incontro a cura di Colonnese / Portici, 1738: il principe d’Elbeuf, Emanuele Maurizio di Lorena, dopo quasi trent’anni fa ritorno nella sua monumentale dimora. Assillato da altrettanto monumentali debiti, vuole cercare di recuperare l’ultimo tesoro nascosto nella vecchia villa: una statua raffigurante Calliope, musa della poesia, solo uno dei molti reperti portati alla luce nel corso dei suoi scavi segreti; quando, anni prima, aveva intercettato nel sottosuolo del “Miglio d’Oro” – la lunga via che porta a Napoli – l’antica città sepolta di Ercolano. I suoi intenti, però, dovranno fare i conti col giovane re Carlo di Borbone, desideroso di costruire una reggia proprio nei dintorni. /
