Lydie Salvayre presenta, insieme ad Ornella Ferrarini, il libro che le è valso il Goncourt: "Non piangere". Spagna 1936. La guerra civile sta per scoppiare. Montse ha quindici anni e, insieme al fratello José, decide di partire per la grande città, dove assiste agli albori della rivoluzione libertaria. Settantacinque anni dopo, davanti a un bicchiere di anisetta, racconta alla figlia gli eventi di quel periodo. Soffre di disturbi della memoria, ma conserva intatto il ricordo splendido di quell’estate del ’36, in cui visse l’ unica avventura della sua vita. Alle parole intime e delicate di Montse si intrecciano quelle granitiche di Bernanos che, nei Grandi cimiteri sotto la luna, ebbe il coraggio di scagliarsi contro le atrocità dell’esercito nazionalista, denunciando anche l’infame connivenza tra Chiesa e militari durante la guerra spagnola.
