Come Parigi con il Café Flor frequentato dagli impressionisti o Lisbona con A Brasileira, il locale prediletto da Fernando Pessoa, anche Roma ha dei luoghi che sono simbolo di stagioni culturali eccezionali. Negli anni Sessanta i giovani artisti si ritrovavano al Caffè Rosati in Piazza del Popolo per confrontarsi sulla possibilità di escogitare una strada italiana per la Pop Art. Nasce così l'avventura di Mario Schifano, Franco Angeli, Pino Pascali e Giosetta Fioroni, tra sperimentazioni, rivalità e relazioni pericolose.
