Come fanno alcuni insetti a camminare sull'acqua? Cosa intendiamo quando diciamo che una superficie è bagnata? È possibile rendere le superfici insensibili all’acqua?
Per rispondere a queste ed altre domande, esploreremo i concetti di tensione superficiale e bagnabilità, che sono alla base della preparazione di emulsioni e schiume. Sono emulsioni le creme cosmetiche e la maionese, mentre la schiuma da barba, la birra, o le meringhe sono schiume.
Attraverso semplici e originali esperimenti, scopriremo insieme questo mondo fatto di “gocce e bolle”.
Le attività presentate in questo laboratorio fanno parte dell’iniziativa Science in a box, una serie di kit didattici dedicati al mondo della scuola e sviluppati in collaborazione con la rete scientifica del CNR con l'obiettivo di ridurre la distanza percepita tra scienza e società e avvicinare le nuove generazioni al mondo della ricerca.
