La sua voce, delicata e feroce insieme, intreccia memoria familiare, amore queer e sopravvivenza. I suoi testi, sospesi tra poesia e narrazione, scavano nei silenzi dell'identità. Dopo il successo di Cielo notturno con fori d'uscita e Brevemente risplendiamo sulla terra, in Il tempo è una madre, Vuong scrive nel vuoto lasciato dalla morte della madre: i versi si spezzano, si rincorrono, si aggrappano alla carne e alla perdita, cercando redenzione nel linguaggio. È una poesia che non consola, ma che accoglie il caos e lo trasforma in gesto umano, fragile, necessario. Lo intervista Silvia Righi.
