Sulle orme del lupo Slavc: un cammino nell’Europa che cambia
Nel 2011 il lupo Slavc lascia la Slovenia, attraversa l’Austria e si stabilisce nel veronese, dove ripopola l’area insieme a un’altra lupa errante. Più di dieci anni dopo, lo scrittore britannico Adam Weymouth ripercorre a piedi per quasi cento chilometri il viaggio del lupo, adottandone lo sguardo e i ritmi. Attorno a lui, però, c’è un’Europa diversa, segnata dalla Brexit e dalle guerre, dalla crisi climatica e da un populismo crescente. Cosciente che «quando parliamo del lupo non parliamo mai soltanto del lupo», Weymouth parte da Slavc per raccontare di tutti noi, del rapporto tra animali e umani nell’Europa contemporanea, di un continente sempre più diviso e impaurito.
Ai Boreali, Adam Weymouth presenta Il lupo solitario, finalista al Baillie Gifford Prize, in dialogo con Alessandro Vanoli.
