501st Italica Garrison
The 501st Italica Garrison is the Italian detachment of the 501st Legion, born on the occasion of the Romics in 2001; for more than 20 years it has been gathering fans of "imperial" costumes and props from all over Italy.
Over the years, the 501st Italica Garrison has participated in numerous comic book fairs, science fiction and film conventions, promotional releases and official collaborations for the distribution of films, cartoons, comics, gadgets, and new products related to the Star Wars brand. The most important collaborations include those with LucasFilm LTD, The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros, RAI, 20th Century Fox, Microsoft, Activision, Asmodee, LEGO. He is a frequent guest in television and radio programs, as well as in the biggest fairs such as Romics in Rome, Milan Games Week & Cartoomics in Milan, Etna Comics, La Festa dell'Unicorno in Vinci and Lucca Comics & Games, just to mention the most important. 501st Italica Garrison also took part in the national editions of the Star Wars Day in Rome (Colosseo 2014 and Piazza di Spagna 2019), in Milan (Arena Civica 2015 and WOW Spazio Fumetto 2017), at the Reggia di Caserta (2018), Vigevano (2022) with more than 5000 people from all over Italy and at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan (2024) on the occasion of the fifth official concert "The empire strikes again". In 2024, on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the release of "Star Wars", the 501st paraded through the streets of downtown Milan together with other official groups and through the streets of downtown Turin in collaboration with Il Museo del Cinema for the exhibition "Movie Icons".
