Ben Hallman

Ben Hallman is the founder and executive director of The Examination, a global health investigative newsroom. Launched in 2023, The Examination works in partnership with journalists from around the world to report on epidemics of preventable diseases driven by commerce and industry – and to explain the consequences for communities, health systems and governments. Ben was previously a senior editor at the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), deputy editor at The Trace and investigations editor at HuffPost. He lives in the New York City suburbs.
