Lih Yi Beh
Lih Yi Beh is the Asia Program Coordinator of the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ). She manages a team of researchers documenting press freedom violations and leads CPJ's research and advocacy in the region.
Lih has reported from different countries in Asia since 2002, with a focus on human rights and social justice issues. She started her career at the award-winning independent Malaysian news website, Malaysiakini, before going on to work for international news outlets Agence France-Presse (AFP) and the Thomson Reuters Foundation in Hong Kong, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. Her work has also been published by the Guardian and the South China Morning Post. Her journalism work has been shortlisted for SOPA and GLAAD Awards. Lih speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay, Indonesian and English.
