Bahareh Heravi
Bio
Bahareh Heravi is an academic at the Institute for People-Centred AI at the University of Surrey, specialising in Data & Computational Journalism, data storytelling, and the use of AI in journalism and media. She also advises the news industry on the use of AI.
She serves on the Irish Government's Open Data Governance Board and the EDI Advisory Board of the Royal Statistical Society, and acts as an expert reviewer for the European Commission. She is also a founding co-chair of the European Data & Computational Journalism Conference and a steering committee member of the Computation + Journalism Conference.
Prior to joining the University of Surrey, she was at the School of Information & Communication Studies at University College Dublin, where she founded and led the UCD Data Journalism Programme.
